Mahalakshmi Ashtakam 1

नमस्तेऽस्तु महामाये श्रीपीठे सुरपूजिते ।
शङ्खचक्रगदाहस्ते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥१॥

Namaste astu mahamaye shri pithae sura poojite;

Shankha chakra gada haste, Mahalakshmi namostute  ॥1॥

Meaning:

Salutations to the greatest goddess Mahalakshmi who symbolizes illusion, who is worshipped by all demi-gods and whose place is an abode of bliss, fortune, and prosperity.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam 2

नमस्ते गरुडारूढे कोलासुरभयंकरि ।
सर्वपापहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥२॥

Namaste garuDaaruDHe Kolhasura bhayankari;

sarva paapa hare devi, Mahalakshmi namostute  ॥2॥

Meaning:

I bow down to the goddess Mahalakshmi who is riding the Garuda (eagle) and the one who destroyed Kolhasura, the demon. I pray to you to destroy all sins.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam 3

सर्वज्ञे सर्ववरदे सर्वदुष्टभयंकरि ।
सर्वदुःखहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥३॥

Sarvagne sarva varade sarva dushTa bhayankari;

sarva dukha hare devi, Mahalakshmi namostute ॥3॥

Meaning:

She is the one who knows everything and the granter of all boons and destroyer of all ills. Salutations to the goddess and I pray to overcome all sorrows.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam 4

सिद्धिबुद्धिप्रदे देवि भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदायिनि ।
मन्त्रमूर्ते सदा देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥४॥

Siddhi buddhi prade devi, bhakti mukti pradayini;

Mantra murte sada devi Mahalakshmi namostute ॥4॥

Meaning:

I pray to Goddess Mahalakshmi who showers bliss, wealth, salvation and knowledge, the one who gives liberation and the one who is the embodiment of all mantras.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam 5

आद्यन्तरहिते देवि आद्यशक्तिमहेश्वरि ।
योगजे योगसम्भूते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥५॥

Adyantarahite devi adishkti maheshwari,;

yogaje yoga-sambhute mahalakshmi namostute ॥5॥

Meaning:

Goddess Lakshmi has no beginning or end and the concept of time and space can’t touch her, she emerges from yoga and remains united with it. I offer my salutations to you.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam 6 and Meaning

स्थूलसूक्ष्ममहारौद्रे महाशक्तिमहोदरे ।
महापापहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥६॥

Sthula sukshmi mahraudre mahashakti mahodare;

mahapaapa hare devi mahalskhmi namostute ॥6॥

Meaning:

To the one who is the manifestation of Lord Rudra and the ultimate strength that holds the entire universe, the greatest energy of the cosmos, the destroyer of all sins.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam 7

पद्मासनस्थिते देवि परब्रह्मस्वरूपिणि ।
परमेशि जगन्मातर्महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥७॥

Padmasana sthite devi para brahma swarupini

parameshi jaganmatar mahalakshmi namostute ॥7॥

Meaning:

I bow down to mother Lakshmi who sits in lotus posture, who can assume the form of the supreme Brahman, the one who is the mother of entire creation.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam 8 And Meaning

श्वेताम्बरधरे देवि नानालङ्कारभूषिते ।
जगत्स्थिते जगन्मातर्महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥८॥

 

Shewtambara dhare devi nanaalkara bhushite

jagadsthite jaganmatar mahalakshmi namostute ॥8॥

Meaning:

The one who is adorned in white clothes and ornaments, who is the universal mother of all creation, I worship the Goddess Lakshmi.

Each of these eight couplets creates its own vibrations and effects. Chanting the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam for 108 times in a day on regular basis can give the devotees miraculous results. Whether it is business, money, job, peace, harmony, bliss or happiness, this mantra is effective at fulfilling desires in very less time.

Whoever recites the mantra with devotion and sincerity is blessed with material and spiritual bliss. The powerful mantra pleases Goddess Mahalakshmi and brings abundance, wealth, prosperity and happiness. It should be recited using Sphatik mala and Kamalgata mala and rose and lotus flowers.

Purnima tithi, Shuklapanch, Subhnachhatra, and Chandravalli are the best times to recite this mantra.
